13 German Enterprises Share at the Seminar “German Technology Meets Vietnamese Textile Industry”

Many leading companies in the German textile industry brought new information about top technological solutions and the context and development potential of the textile industry through the seminar “German Technology Meets Vietnamese Textile Industry” held on July 5th, 2024, at the University of Technology. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action supported the program, organized by VDMA (German Textile Machinery Association), the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (AHK), and the University of Technology.

The seminar featured representatives from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam), the German Textile Machinery Association VDMA, and representatives from German enterprises along with faculty and students from the Textile Engineering and Textile Technology departments of the University of Technology.

 

During their visit to Vietnam, the German delegation organized consecutive seminars on Textile Machinery and Accessories in Hanoi on July 2nd and Ho Chi Minh City on July 4th, 2024. At the University of Technology on July 5th, the delegation held an engaging exchange session with over 70 lecturers, students, and alumni from the textile, and mechanical engineering sectors, and some Vietnamese businesses. They shared insights on almost all stages of the textile production chain, including spinning, knitting, weaving, dyeing, finishing, and quality control of finished products.

Company representatives delivered presentations on the highlights of their technological solutions.

At the seminar, representatives from leading German companies such as Saurer, Textechno, Welker, JKS, WEKO, Monforts, and others presented breakthroughs and advanced technological solutions, by applying technologies, manufacturing, and product quality improvement at these companies have become more efficient. As a result, businesses can quickly meet market demands and adapt to the textile industry’s shift towards sustainability, automation, and digitization.

Through the lively presentations from company representatives, Mr. Jan Bietendorf from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action hoped that students could grasp the latest development trends in the textile industry in general and within German enterprises in particular, thereby seeing the direction for their future career paths.

After listening and discussing directly with experts, students gained a more comprehensive view of the industry and its potential and a better understanding of scientific and technological applications in machinery development and workflow optimization. This provides graduates with future job opportunities and career-building prospects in Textile Engineering and Textile Technology.
