Introduction<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The\u00a0Seoul Smart City Prize<\/strong>\u00a0is designed to promote an innovative yet inclusive smart city model that looks after underprivileged groups in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that is driven by information and communication technology. This core mission serves as the basis of the two categories of the Prize,\u00a0Tech-InnovaCity<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Human-CentriCity<\/strong>, as WeGO and the Seoul Metropolitan Government envisions that smart city should be defined and measured in terms of being both people-centric and technology-centric, rather than merely being centered around the advancement of technology.<\/p>\n

Objective<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The\u00a0Seoul Prize<\/strong>\u00a0aims to\u00a0acknowledge<\/strong>\u00a0efforts made for people-centered digital transformation that benefit the vulnerable population with innovative or tech-driven solutions;\u00a0promote<\/strong>\u00a0the inclusive development agenda for key processes and frameworks surrounding digitalization of public services;\u00a0engage<\/strong>\u00a0the global community in shaping the future direction of digitalization by offering a space for discussion; and\u00a0foster<\/strong>\u00a0interaction and networking opportunities among relevant stakeholders in the smart city development sector.<\/p>\n

The Seoul Smart City Prize will receive applications from cities, companies, organizations, and individuals that have developed or contributed to innovative and people-centered smart cities \u2013 in fields such as transportation, safety, energy, environment, welfare, culture, and governance. Winners of the Prize will be invited to the Award Ceremony in Seoul. Winners will also be able to participate in a capacity-building training program the following year which will facilitate peer-to-peer learning among leading cities and organizations and will be given an opportunity to collaborate with the Seoul Metropolitan Government on a smart city project on various models including but not limited to feasibility study and a pilot implementation, triangular cooperation, and collaborative demonstration which will be customized to the selected cities\u2019 smart city development stages and policy needs.<\/p>\n

WeGO, together with Seoul, would like to extend an invitation to you to take part in the Seoul Smart City Prize. We believe that your engagement in this Prize will shed light on the significance of innovative and inclusive smart cities.<\/p>\n
