Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) is collaborating with SteelEng Holdings (SE Group, Japan), HUDECO, and BKAGEOPET to launch a rural bridge construction initiative. The project carries a strong social impact, focusing on upgrading local infrastructure and making travel safer and more accessible for residents in disadvantaged areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the afternoon of September 18, 2025, the four parties officially signed a cooperation agreement to turn their shared goal of community service into reality. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Matsutani Ryujiro, Chairman of SE Group; Mr. Ta Cong Thanh Vinh, Chairman of HUDECO, Head of the BKA Geopet Representative Committee, and Vice Chairman of BKA; Mr. Chau Quang Dieu, Chairman of BKAGEOPET; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Ky Phuong Ha, Vice President of HCMUT, together with leadership members from all sides. Mr. Vo Van Nhien Em, Vice Chairman of Thanh Hung Commune People\u2019s Committee, An Giang Province, also attended the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration focuses on selecting, designing, and constructing rural bridges. This initiative combines scientific expertise, engineering capacity, and practical construction experience to address infrastructure challenges in local communities. The first project is planned in Thanh Hung Commune, An Giang Province, where transportation remains limited due to the river-based landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Ky Phuong Ha, Vice President of HCMUT, expressed confidence that the upcoming projects will serve not only as physical infrastructure but also as symbols of solidarity, compassion, and social responsibility among all parties involved.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Sharing SE Group\u2019s aspiration to contribute to community development in Vietnam, Chairman Matsutani Ryujiro stated that the company aims to build 100 bridges across the country, with one already completed in Bac Lieu Province. He expressed confidence that the combined efforts of HCMUT, HUDECO, and BKAGEOPET will strengthen implementation capacity and lay the groundwork for a series of durable, community-serving bridges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bridge construction and volunteer activities are not new to the HCMUT community, where such projects have long been tied to the \u201cGreen Summer Campaign,\u201d a hallmark of the university\u2019s tradition of social service. Vice President Huynh Ky Phuong Ha affirmed that the upcoming projects will serve not only as physical infrastructure but also as symbols of solidarity, compassion, and shared social responsibility between the university, businesses, and local authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the ceremony, the parties discussed legal procedures, financial arrangements, and other key matters to ensure transparency and clear direction for project implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
