On November 17, 2024, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering organized a warm and meaningful gathering to commemorate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20th. At Workshop C1, a place filled with countless memories, generations of faculty and staff who have served the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering came together to reminisce about fond memories, share their joy, and express their deep gratitude to those who have contributed to the Faculty’s development.
In the opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Trong Hieu, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, underscored the pivotal role of teachers in inspiring and guiding our students. He remarked, “Our esteemed faculty members have devoted their lives to imparting knowledge and nurturing future generations of mechanical engineers. They are not only our mentors but also our guiding stars, igniting passion and shaping the dreams of our students.”

In the warm ambiance of today’s gathering, esteemed faculty members of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering reminisced about the wonderful memories throughout their journey. The days spent together under the common roof of “Bach Khoa Mechanical Engineering House” at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology have connected generations of lecturers and students. The presence of our esteemed faculty today is a vivid testament to the unity, continuity, and constant development of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering over the past 68 years.
Looking back at the development of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, we cannot fail to mention the outstanding achievements of our esteemed faculty members in teaching and research. Our faculty members have overcome numerous challenges, whether they be in teaching, research, or personal life. It is thanks to their perseverance and dedication that today the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering can proudly claim its contributions and position at both national and international levels.
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering currently has 08 departments and 01 Practical Teaching Unit; 05 laboratories and 01 Mechanical Workshop for practical training and experiments. The Faculty is managing and operating 15 undergraduate programs (including 07 standard programs, 03 talent programs, 01 Vietnam-France High-Quality Engineer program, and 04 English-taught programs), 05 Master’s programs, and 03 Doctoral programs. The number of freshmen admitted to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has been increasing over the years. In 2024, there are more than 1000 graduate students and undergraduates joining the Bach Khoa Mechanical Engineering community. The network of alumni of Bach Khoa Mechanical Engineering is growing rapidly, providing a strong foundation for the Faculty’s development. International relations have been expanded, and the reputation of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has been enhanced. Domestic and foreign enterprises always pay special attention to and prioritize recruiting human resources from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
The achievements and resources of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering today are the result of the collective efforts of generations of faculty members and alumni over the past 68 years. Without their dedicated contributions, it would be difficult to imagine the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering achieving its current stature and standing.
