From November 22nd to 24th, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) grandly held a graduation ceremony and conferred degrees upon doctoral candidates, master’s students, and undergraduate students of all programs. This event marked a significant milestone, acknowledging the academic achievements of thousands of doctoral candidates, master’s students, and undergraduate students. Specifically, the University conferred doctoral degrees on 16 outstanding researchers, master’s degrees on 249 graduate students, and engineering, architecture, and bachelor’s degrees on 2976 undergraduate students.
In a solemn and warm atmosphere of the entire university, on the afternoon of November 22nd, 2024, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering held a graduation ceremony for 557 new Doctors, Masters, Engineers, and Bachelors. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Trong Hieu, Dean of the Faculty, extended his warmest congratulations to the new graduates, welcoming them to their common home – “Bach Khoa Ho Chi Minh city Mechanical House“.

Your relentless efforts have yielded remarkable results. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering believes that with the knowledge and skills you have acquired, you will achieve great success in your careers. Today’s solemn graduation ceremony marks a significant milestone in your lives. From today onward, you will officially become Masters, Engineers, and Bachelors who contribute valuable value to the flow of life. What you have learned from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is a fundamental foundation as you embark on your careers. All our teachers wish you a successful start and a quick adaptation to your new work environment.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Trong Hieu conveyed a heartfelt message to the graduates: “Remember, we cannot achieve this success without the nurturing and guidance of our parents, the instruction of our esteemed teachers, and the encouragement and support from enterprises, our alumni, and our peers. On this occasion, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has accompanied you throughout your studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Your support, encouragement, love, and dedication have been invaluable in helping you move forward.”
Mr. Do Phuoc Tong, representing the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, delivered a meaningful speech at the ceremony. He affirmed, “For the past 68 years, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has become a prestigious brand in mechanical engineering education. Generations of Mechanical Engineering students from HCMUT, with the spirit of ‘those who go before lead those who follow,’ have contributed to building a united community that is always ready to support one another. We hope that you will carry on and develop this fine tradition.”
Mr. Do Phuoc Tong, Head of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Chairman of Duy Khanh Mechanical Company’s Board of Members, delivered a heartfelt speech
Each year, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering enrolls over 1,000 students, and annually graduates more than 750 new Doctors, Masters, Engineers, and Bachelors. In the November 2024 graduation ceremony, 557 students graduated, including 1 new Doctor, 19 new Masters, and 538 new Engineers and Bachelors (comprising 16 new Engineers from the Vietnam-France High-Quality program, 97 new Bachelors from English-taught programs, 383 new Bachelors from standard programs, and 42 new Bachelors from the Work-Study program). Notably, Tong Phuoc Thanh An, a new Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering, was awarded the All-Round Cup and Gold Medal. Thanh An was also the top scorer in the 2020 entrance exam; a 2021 Bachelor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management received an Outstanding Achievement Certificate; five new Bachelors were awarded Gold Medals, and four new Bachelors received Certificates of Merit from the Rector for topping their respective majors.
