Welcoming domestic and international partners to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT)

1. On July 22, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) welcomed the General Director of Schneider Electric Vietnam Mr. Dong Mai Lam to the University for a cooperation discussion meeting. President – Assoc. Prof. Mai Thanh Phong and the managers of offices and the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering represented the University to attend the reception and meeting.

Present in Vietnam in 1994, Schneider Electric (SE) specializes in digitalization, automation, and energy solutions. SE and HCMUT wish to cooperate in training quality improvement and introducing digital energy solutions to university students.

2. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) received a delegation from Intel Products Vietnam Co. Ltd., led by the General Director – Mr.  Kenneth Tse, managers and experts from the Company for a discussion session on July 23rd, 2024. HCMUT Vice President – Assoc. Prof. Pham Tran Vu and the managers of offices and the faculties (Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, and Engineering) joined the reception and discussion.

The two parties exchanged information regarding the progress of the cooperation agreement signed in December 2023. This collaboration with Intel will create numerous new opportunities for the University’s students and faculty while contributing to the sustainable growth of Vietnam’s technology industry.

3. The reception of the Yaskawa Asia Pacific delegation led by the CEO – Mr. Nobuaki Jinnouchi, its managers, and experts took place at HCMUT on the afternoon of July 23rd, 2024. Vice President – Assoc. Prof. Pham Tran Vu and representatives of the External Relations Office and the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering joined the reception and meeting.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the utilization of Yaskawa Company-sponsored equipment, reviewed the results achieved, and outlined future cooperation directions, particularly in the research and development of technology for industrial applications.

4. Also, on the afternoon of July 23rd, 2024, HCMUT welcomed representatives from the School of Science, Engineering, and Technology (SSET) at RMIT Vietnam. The delegation, led by SSET Dean Prof. Iwona Miliszewska, was received by HCMUT’s Vice President – Assoc Prof. Pham Tran Vu, office managers, and the Faculty of Chemical Engineering.

The discussed cooperative activities included research collaboration, sharing digital transformation experiences, faculty and student exchanges, and more. This partnership is anticipated to generate new opportunities and improve the training and research quality at both universities.
