Construction Machinery & Handling Equipment Department

I. GENERAL INTRODUCTION:

The Department of Construction Machinery and Handling Equipment was established in 1976 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. It was the first department in universities in the South to offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral training in construction and handling machinery.

By studying this major, students gain knowledge of the principles, maintenance, and design of lifting and handling equipment such as elevators, escalators, conveyors, forklifts, cranes, etc. In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate education, the department has also trained hundreds of workers in crane operation, dredging machines, maintenance supervision, and repair of construction and handling equipment.

The departmental laboratory (Workshop C3) provides facilities for students to practice in the field of lifting, handling, and construction machinery. It has a dedicated lab for students, and students can also participate in departmental research projects and student projects.
